Exam fever

As it is the exam season, it is natural that the whole community related to the students get cracking. At times the people around the students are more tense than the student himself.

Well, first of all let me wish you all the best!

Be serious, sincere and purposeful
Keep in mind that nothing dramatic or miraculous can be done in the last minute
Reinforce in what is already done
Don't start anything new
Continue to lead the same life as you have been
Try not to change the system
Avoid harassing your neighbours and people around you
Don't play the blame game
Be patient and wait for the right opportunity
Decide not to come back to this position again
Put in maximum output in such a way that you never look back and regret
It is you who have to face the consequences
It may be the first time for you; but for many around you it is just another passing cloud
Producing what you know is more important that what you don't know
No one is perfect

All the best for all involved in examinations of all levels!

Exam Results

Recently the results of Class XII Board exams were out (in Tamil Nadu). It is really heartening to note that many records were broken. Percentage of result has improved - all such records, statistics are out. Congratulations to all who have done a good job. All the students who have secured top positions and who have achieved 100% marks definitely need a pat on their backs.

As a matter of fact, all students who appeared for the exams - a grueling experience need appreciation whatever be the results. Usually the educationists claim that this examination system is good as long as  we have not been able to evolve a better system of discriminating better from the ordinary. So every student needs praise for the very accomplishment of this exercise.

While we flash the outstanding results of the meritorious students, it is the need of the society that we get back to the years and batches of students or rather the toppers in yester years and analyse their present position. We should also analyse the students who had almost felt that they were ruined when their results were out. Some of them were saved from the brim of their losing life just for this one reason of not performing well in this 'board exam'.

CBSE and other educationists and  psychologists have been trying to find a solution to it. While the process is on towards a positive trend, it is the awareness that the parents and the wiseacres should get makes it worth a mention.

Let us join hands to drive home the point that examinations are not the end. They are just a part of one's life process. Teachers and institutions should strive hard to educate themselves to accept the reality of life. Schools do not function only for preparing students for the exams.

As the world grows wider, population gets increased, opportunities are also abundant. I know I am only a tiny person to reiterate this point. Many scholars have sounded this view in much better manner and louder voice. But this message doesn't seem to reach the rigid hardcore people who are bent upon 'torturing' the students.

In my next post I shall touch the other extreme of people doing business out of the students.
Thank you
